"Towards a greener future for the agricultural industri"

Meet Linka Energy at Agromek i MCH – Herning
November 24–27, 2026

Turning agricultural biomass into valuable energy.

Straw, digestate fibre, wood chips, wood pellets and other suitable agricultural residues can be valuable energy resources. At AGROMEK 2026, Linka Energy will focus on how locally available resources can be converted into heat and process energy – for farms, biogas plants and the agro-industry.

From 24–27 November, the agricultural sector will gather at AGROMEK at MCH Messecenter Herning, and Linka Energy will once again be exhibiting.

This year, our focus is on biomass and energy solutions for agriculture, biogas and the agro-industry – and on the opportunities to make better use of resources already available on or around the farm.

Energy requirements vary from one farm to another, as do the available biomass fuels. Our solutions are therefore designed around the fuel, the specific energy requirements and the day-to-day operation of each plant.

Straw, wood chips and wood pellets for on-farm energy

Heating livestock buildings and other farm buildings, grain drying, hot water and heat for production are just some of the applications where biomass can be used as an energy source.

Straw is a readily available resource on many Danish farms and has been a key fuel in Linka biomass boiler plants for decades. Wood chips and wood pellets can also be used, depending on local conditions, operational requirements and the required energy output.

Since 1978, Linka Energy has developed and supplied biomass energy plants, with extensive experience in solutions for Danish farms and estates.

Turning agricultural residues into energy resources

The energy potential of agricultural biomass extends beyond traditional biomass fuels.

Digestate fibre and other suitable agricultural residues may also have energy potential. Rather than viewing these materials solely as something to be handled or disposed of, there may be opportunities to utilise them as fuel.

This requires a solution designed around the specific characteristics of the biomass. Fuel handling, feeding and combustion must work together to ensure stable energy production from challenging or variable biomass fuels.

Handling different types of biomass and agricultural residues is therefore an important part of Linka Energy’s work with energy plants for agriculture, biogas and industry.

Bringing biomass and biogas together

At biogas plants, reliable and efficient biomass handling is essential to the overall process.

Linka Energy works with solutions for handling large volumes of biomass as well as the energy utilisation of suitable residual materials. This makes it possible to consider biomass flows as part of the overall energy solution – from reception and handling through to the production of heat and process energy.

One example is Ausumgaard Biogas, where Linka has supplied a Heavy-Duty Walking Floor system for handling approximately 200,000 tonnes of biomass per year. The system is designed for continuous feedstock supply and reliable handling of large biomass volumes in day-to-day operation.

From agriculture to the agro-industry

The use of biomass energy is not limited to on-farm heating.

Larger farms, biogas plants and companies within the agro-industry may require significant amounts of process heat or steam. In these applications, biomass can be used as the energy source in larger, individually engineered energy plants.

Linka’s solutions therefore range from smaller biomass boiler plants for agriculture to larger MW-scale plants for process energy and industrial applications.

Common to all our solutions is that each plant is designed around the fuel, the energy requirements and the specific operating conditions.

👉 Meet Linka Energy at AGROMEK 2026

At AGROMEK, you can meet Lars, Jørgen, Vivi, Carsten, Claus and Thomas from Linka Energy.

We will be ready to discuss straw, digestate fibre, wood chips, wood pellets and other biomass fuels – and the opportunities to convert your own or locally available resources into energy.

If you have biomass or agricultural residues with untapped energy potential or are considering a new energy solution for your farm, biogas plant or production facility, come and talk to us.
